At Carnival, the Irpino Museum is divided into three with a rich program of events dedicated to the funniest party of the year!
From Thursday 24 February to Tuesday 1 March at the Museum there will be a party with themed events and for all tastes!
It starts on Thursday 24 with A legend for Carnival, a playful educational activity for children aged 4 to 6. It continues on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 with Museum Disguises, a special guided tour for adults and children with a “nineteenth century” theme and the awarding of the most original disguise or accessory! The celebrations will end on Tuesday 1 March with A Carnival … every wolf is worth, an educational activity intended for children aged 7 to 12 during which original “wolf cubs” masks will be made to become the protagonists of the happiest party of the year and which has its roots in ancient Rome.
An opportunity to return to the Museum and have fun!

A legend for Carnival

The men who made up the Lupercalia procession, the Carnival of ancient Rome, wore wolf masks. But the wolf is also the protagonist of the birth of the ancient Irpini tribe.
An ancient fairy tale for our little visitors who will reproduce an ancient Irpinia legend for the funniest party of the year!

Museum disguises
A special masked guided tour through the halls of the Bourbon Prison Monumental Complex! We invite young and old to wear an accessory, a mask or a nineteenth-century themed dress! A tasty gift will be given to the most original disguise!

At Carnival… every wolf is worth!
Our young friends will have to make “wolf cubs” masks to become the protagonists of the funniest party of the year, which has its roots in the Lupercalia, the Carnival of ancient Rome.
The most beautiful creations will be part of our photoalbum on Facebook to be voted on by everyone with the hashtag #MuseoinMaschera.
